Assyrians Marginalized in Syrian Opposition

(AINA) -- The Syrian National Coalition (SNC), an umbrella group for Syria's numerous opposition groups, recently formed a new government in exile but failed to include Assyrian representatives. The cabinet appointed by SNC will operate from Turkey and is intended to administer areas under the control of the opposition.
The Assyrian Democratic Organization, which has been a member of the Syrian opposition since the beginning, did not secure any presence in the cabinet.
Assyrians are feeling increasingly marginalized as their demands are ignored by the opposition and as Kurds move towards a de-facto self rule in parts of Syria (AINA 8-20-2013).
