Assyrian Church in Kirkuk, Iraq Completes Renovation

Kirkuk, Iraq (AINA) -- The St. George Church in Kirkuk, Iraq completed its renovation recently. St. George belongs to the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East, which was founded by the Apostle Thomas in 33 A.D. Assyrians have two other major denominations, the Syriac Orthodox church, founded in 450 A.D., and the Chaldean Church of Babylon, a Roman Catholic Uniate, founded in 1552 A.D.
