Assyrian Genocide Monument Unveiled in Armenia

(AINA) -- A monument to the Assyrian victims of the Turkish genocide in World War One was unveiled in Yerevan, Armenia on April 24, which is the anniversary of the beginning of the genocide, April 24, 1915. The Turkish genocide claimed the lives of 750,000 Assyrians (75%), 500,000 Greeks and 1.5 million Armenians.
"We must demand that Turkey should recognize the Armenian Genocide," said Mr. Arsen Mikhailov, an Assyrian leader in Armenia, "and paid compensation to different nations."
The monument is located at the corner of Moskovyan and Nalbandyan streets.
