Beirut (AINA) -- Following previous meetings with European politicians and others in order to introduce itself and its goals to the world public opinion, the Assyria Patriotic Movement (APM) delegation met with the Ambassador of Austria in Beirut, H.E. Ursula Fahringer, and presented to her a dossier on the situation of the Assyrians in north Iraq. APM was represented by its Chairman, Mr. Ashur Giwargis, and member of the administrative board and public relations bureau, Miss Viviane Brakhya.

The delegation discussed its activities in proposing the Assyrian national cause with emphasis on international law and explained the situation of the Assyrian people in Syria in light of the civil war, and the situation of Assyrian refugees in Lebanon, and suggested more cooperation with other governments and international organizations.

Austria is one of the globally active countries on the issue of the protection of minorities and an active member of the United Nations Council for Human Rights.
