From “The War Dead of the Commonwealth, The Register of the names of those who fell in the 1939-1945 War and are buried in cemeteries in Iraq”, London: Compiled and published by order of the Commonwealth war graves commission 1961.  These soldiers- Royal Air Force Levies- who died while serving in Iraq and were buried in remote and unmaintainable graves.  A memorial in the Habbaniya war cemetery commemorated them.  The inscription, in English, Arabic, and Assyrian, reads:- 1939-1945 These Men gave their lives while serving with their Comrades on the Royal Air Force:
