In an interview with IBNA, the author of this work referred to the book as the first work published in Persian on the subject of familiarity with the grammar of the ancient languages of Syriac, Aramaic and Assyrian.

The book 'Introduction to Grammar and Dictionaries of Syriac, Aramaic and Assyrian Languages' is recently released by the publication of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies in Iran. The author of this book is one of the most prolific researchers in the field of ancient languages of Western Asia. A brief conversation with the author follows:

What made you write the book 'Introduction to Grammar and Dictionaries of Syriac, Aramaic and Assyrian Languages'?

Before answering the question, it is necessary to point out that this book is the first volume of a three-volume series which I have prepared in my research trip to Iraq and Turkey to study ancient manuscripts. Talking with friends before this trip in 2013, I came to the conclusion that for those interested in getting familiar with Aramaic and Syriac languages, a guide source for the selection of the grammar and vocabulary sources must be available. So, as soon as I got to Dohuk (a city in northern Iraq) and before signing the agreement to translate the Syriac manuscript, I planned a general format for the book.

Did you consider a descriptive approach in writing the book?

Although the form of the work made the descriptive style of writing inevitable, but the systematic trend of the work provided the reasons to support the claim that the approach to writing the book is not just descriptive.

How many grammatical forms have you introduced?

About one hundred and seven grammatical forms of Syriac, Aramaic and Assyrian languages have been introduced in different ways.

How many apps have you used?

About eighty-seven apps have been used at various levels.

Does your work have a parallel in another language?

Not that I've seen of in my studies. I'm very much interested in rewriting the book in English.
